Porsche House of Cards
(1980s 911 Models)

Inspired by Charles and Ray Eames’ iconic House of Cards, this set of ten interlocking cards serves as an educational tool to explore typographic anatomy through the News Gothic typeface while celebrating the history of Porsche's 1980s 911 models. Each card showcases key design elements of the Porsche 911 on the front, paired with a piece of typographic anatomy and a fun fact about the car on the back.

The card designs draw inspiration from Russian-American graphic designer Alexey Brodovitch, with an emphasis on his use of line, shape, and meticulous attention to detail, complemented by timeless black-and-white imagery. To echo the playful intent of the original House of Cards as a toy, I introduced a vibrant, retro color palette that balances youthful energy with the sophistication and class synonymous with Porsche. News Gothic, a typeface frequently utilized by Porsche, adds an authentic connection to the brand, seamlessly integrating Porsche’s aesthetic into the cards’ typographic exploration.
